Media reports on Tuesday reported that six national team cricketers have lodged a complaint against Basnyat at the National Sports Council (NSC) claiming they were misbehaved by the coach during October 7-18 tournament. But on Tuesday, the women called on a press conference to refute the claims.
“The news is completely baseless because no such incident occurred. Yes we had differences with the coach because of his harsh nature and we have already settled that issue,” said national team skipper Rubina Chhetri.
Chhetri also said that no one has lodged any complaint against the coach at the NSC. “This is nothing but nonsense. We don’t think there is any proof that we have lodged any complaint against the coach,” said Chhetri. Coach Basnyat, who was present during the press conference termed the report as a distraction.
