Artists for environment conservation

- Post Report, Kathmandu

Nov 17, 2016-

The 2016 iteration of Planet Nepal, a festival that brings together artists working with contemporary environmental issues, to raise voice to preserve the environment, is just around the corner. The fest, organised jointly by Alliance française and French Embassy in Nepal, is slated to start this Friday, November 18, at the Jawalakhel Ground in Lalitpur.

The two-day fest—themed ‘Go wild for life: zero tolerance for the illegal wildlife trade’—marks the World Environment Day.  The fest aims to get the community proactively engaged on issues of environmental conservation through artistic activities.

Planet Nepal 2016 will feature a host of activities—such as field excursion to the zoo, drama staging, roundtable meeting with experts, photography contest; movie screenings, and concerts—all of which will touch upon the issues of environmental preservation.

The fest will draw to close with a performance by 1974 AD on November 19.
