Nepal are participating in the tournament for the second straight time having previously participated in the first edition, also held in India four years ago. The tournament will take place in nine different venues - New Delhi, Mumbai, Guajarat, Indore, Kochi, Faridabad, Andhra Pradesh, Bhubaneswar and Bangalore.
Nepal are the only non-Test playing nations to participate in the tournament also contested by India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, England, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and West Indies.
After meeting the Aussies on the opening day, Nepal play Bangladesh on February 1. The round-robin league event will see all the teams playing each other with the top four sides entering the semi-finals slated for February 11.
Nepal’s next game pits them against South Africa (Feb 2), Pakistan (Feb 3), West Indies (Feb 4) and Sri Lanka (Feb 5). After a day of rest, the tournament resumes with Nepal meeting England on February 7 following by the fixtures against India (Feb 8) and New Zealand (Feb 9).
Cricket Association of Blind Nepal is holding a four-day selection tournament at the Pulchowk Engineering College from December 7, while the closed-camp begins from January 4-23 in Kathmandu and Bhaktapur.
India are the defending champions of the Twenty20 World Cup for Blind having also won the 40-over World Cup held in Capetown, South Africa in 2014.
