CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has said the Constituent Assembly would be meaningless if all the provisions of the Interim Constitution were to be endorsed.

The former prime minister was referring to the old provision of naturalised citizens holding top positions of the country. 

Speaking at the closing session of the political training for the party-affiliated journalists’ wing, Press Chautari Nepal, in the Capital on Thursday, Oli said his party, the second largest force in Parliament, would not agree to amending the constitution by splitting the Hills from the plains. 

The programme was organised by the party’s central schooling department.
