Magars press parties to keep their cluster intact
Dec 24, 2016-
Magar community members on Friday demonstrated in Tansen, the district headquarters of Palpa, demanding an undivided Magarat cluster in the federal set-up.
Nepal Magar Sangh led the rally in which the leaders urged the political parties to let the government amend the constitution keeping their settlements in Province 4 and 5 undivided.
The Sangh supports the constitution amendment bill registered in Parliament. Nabin Rokamagar, central chairman of the Sangh, said the proposed amendment upholds the Magarat cluster. “We have been pressing for endorsement of the amendment bill,” he said.
Magar leaders are also demanding an integrated Magarat autonomous state. Lawmaker Tulasa Rana said some parties were protesting against the amendment bill to divide the Magarat again.
