Artist BK’s work on display at Mithila Yain

The ongoing show is artist BK’s 12th solo exhibition. The exhibit was inaugurated by musician Gurudev Kamat amid a ceremony on Saturday.
Speaking at the ceremony, Kamat said, “Persistence is one among many qualities that is essential for anyone indulging in the arts. If there is one thing that makes BK’s work what it is, it’s the artist’s tireless perseverance.”
Art critic Mukesh Malla, speaking at the event said that BK’s works—with their powerful depiction of mountain peaks and Buddha—can go a long way to promote Nepal in the world. “The portrait of Buddha, which has been interpreted by countless artists around the world, has found a distinct exposure in artist BK’s work.”
The exhibit features a variety of Buddha portraits, each given a unique touch to it with the use of diverse colour combinations. Speaking about his work, artist BK said, “Most of my portraits have a smiling Buddha in them, a metaphor to Nepal’s bright future. The portraits also urge the onlookers to follow Buddha’s paths.”
The exhibit will be on till January 6.
