Nepal’s ambassador to EU presents letters of credence

After the ceremony, Ambassador Thapa held a brief meeting with Tusk who congratulated the former on his appointment and wished him success in strengthening the existing relations between Nepal and the EU, the Embassy/ Mission of Nepal in Brussels said.
On his part, Ambassador Thapa conveyed greetings and best wishes on behalf of President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal to Tusk and expressed his willingness to work closely with the EU institutions to take the bilateral relations between Nepal and the EU to a new height during his tenure.
Referring to the EU’s support and cooperation in Nepal’s peace process, EU President Tusk stated that the EU was ready to work closely with the government of Nepal in further sustaining the democratic gains made by Nepal over the years. He also expressed hope that the government and people of Nepal would be able to effectively tackle the political and economic challenges facing the country.
Ambassador Thapa thanked President Tusk and through him to all the EU authorities for their contributions to Nepal’s development efforts. He also apprised Tusk of Nepal’s recent political and economic developments and expressed hope that the EU would continue to extend support and cooperation in the days ahead.
