Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun has called on the government to invest in the field of science and technology to achieve the development goal. 

As the country has failed to create suitable environment for technology-based education, a large number of students have been going abroad to pursue higher studies, Pun noted, while inaugurating the 7th Southwestern Science Exhibition and Career in Management Programme in the Capital on Thursday. 

The two-day science exhibition showcases equipment made by students using local materials at 40 stalls. Besides Southwestern, students from Golden Gate and Trinity College are participating in the event. 

Sulav Bhatta, representative of the US Embassy in Nepal, said the embassy has been supporting in the capacity building of students.
