Based on author Indra Bahadur Rai’s story of the same name, the play, adapted and directed by Sunil Pokharel, tells the story of a Burma-based Nepali community’s fleeing—due to attacks from the Japanese military—to the Indian village of Lekhapani, the community’s traditional settlement. The play features student actors, in the likes of Sunisha Bajgain, Raj Neupane, Renuka Karki, among others, from director Pokharel’s theatre project, Gyan: Discover Yourself with Sunil Pokharel. The sets for the play are designed by Anup Baral and the play features live music by the duo of Utsav Kumar Budhathoki and Bishworaj Kafle.
The play will run till May 24.
