The newly elected Mayor Bidya Sundar Shakya and Deputy Mayor Hariprabha Khadgi of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City who assumed office on Wednesday vowing to make the city clean on Thursday got the show on the road as they swept streets in Bansbari.
Soon after taking the oath of office and secrecy on Wednesday, Mayor Shakya had announced his “Clean City” campaign.
Today’s campaign is part of our genuine efforts to make the city clean; this not for cheap publicity, said Mayor Shakya.
Similarly, Deputy Mayor Khadgi said the KMC hoped to get support for the “Clean City” campaign.
