In a farewell meeting held at Singha Durbar on Monday, PM Dahal in particular appreciated the role of Chief Secretary Som Lal Subedi during the former’s 10-month tenure. Subedi’s expertise had helped the government a lot in managing the local federal units in their restructuring, the PM said.
He praised the bureaucracy as “capable and transformative” when in need, an organisation that could work confidently with the political leadership.
Expressing his desire to engage all the political forces including the agitating Madhes-based parties, Dahal claimed that his government had made the new constitution acceptable to a broader section of society and laid the foundation for its implementation.
“Creating the local level holds lasting significance in terms of political transformation,” Dahal told the officials, adding that this development was important also to institutionalise the achievements of the past political movements.
