Five new cases of swine flu detected in Syangja
Five new cases of swine flu (Influenza ‘A’ H1N1) have been identified in Waling of Syangja. A medical team from Kathmandu had arrived in Waling on Saturday for an on-field inspection after a man from the district, who was tested positive for swine flu, died at the TU Teaching Hospital on July 24.Five new cases of swine flu (Influenza ‘A’ H1N1) have been identified in Waling of Syangja.
A medical team from Kathmandu had arrived in Waling on Saturday for an on-field inspection after a man from the district, who was tested positive for swine flu, died at the TU Teaching Hospital on July 24.
The medical team had collected blood and sputum samples of 20 patients from Waling Primary Health Centre and sent them to Kathmandu for lab tests. Of the 20 samples, five have tested positive for swine flu, said the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division (EDCD).
The EDCD team had visited the health centre after 49-year-old Khum Praksah Aryal of Waling Municipality-14 died of swine flu in the Capital.
Three people have died of swine flu in the Capital while undergoing treatment over the last two weeks.
