Agro trade and investment expo slated for September 14

Agro Trade and Investment Exhibition and Conference 2017 has been slated to be held on September 14 in the Capital with the theme entitled “Progressing from Subsistence to Commercial Agriculture”. The event aims to support agro entrepreneurs to scale-up to commercialisation from subsistence farming practices. 

The objective of the event is also to attract new investors and entrepreneurs to agro business and create awareness for appropriate polices for agro business, the organiser said on Wednesday. 

The three-day event has envisaged achieving its target through two basic strategy --conference and exhibition. The conference aims to create an interaction platform to support agro investors, entrepreneurs and farmers in providing technical and financial information and insights for commercial agriculture, scaling up their agro-business, advocating and raising awareness among the government and donor officials for growth in commercial agriculture. 

The event is focused exclusively on agriculture including aquaculture, horticulture, floriculture, poultry and apiary, livestock and cash-crop farming. The Agro Trade and Investment Exhibition and Conference is expected to host about 120 exhibitors and an educational conference for 200 participants. The organiser expects to attract about 30,000 visitors. The event is both a business-to-business event as well as business-to-consumer event.

The event is being organised by House of Rajkarnicar, promoted by Department of Agriculture and Department of Livestock Services, partnered by International Labour Organisation, Nepal Agri Business Innovation Centre, Nepal Dairy Association, Nepal Tea and Coffee Board, Krishak ra Prabidhi and Krishi TV.
