Rodents blamed for Nuwakot power cut

Half of Nuwakot and Rasuwa districts has been living in darkness for the pastthree days after an electric feeder exploded at the Trishuli powerhouse.
Chief at the Nuwakot Distribution Center Ashok Pandit said rodents entered the number three feeder of the main circuit breaker in the fuse section of the
powerhouse and caused the explosion.
Power supply through feeders 1, 2 and 4 has been disrupted following the explosion. Some 40 technicians are working to restore power in the districts, Pandit said.
Electricity has been disrupted in Nuwakot Durbar, Chogate, Bageshwori, Dhikure, Tupche and Kaule, among other places.
As a consequence, the mobile network is also on the verge of breaking down in the area after inverters of telecom service providers developed problems.
