5 tested positive for dengue in Mahottari

At least five cases of dengue have been reported in Bardibas of Mahottari district in the recent days. According to a health official, five patients, including chief of Gauribas Health Post Mahendra Shah had tested positive for dengue virus when they reached various health facilities in the district with complaints of high fever, severe headache, pain in muscles and joints and rashes. Others detected with the mosquito-borne disease were Kishore Bhattarai, 38, of Bardibas Municipality-1, Pramila Karki, 30, of Bardibas Municipality-2, Khin Maya Pokharel, 60, of Ward 5 and Khur Haru Adhikari, 40, of Ward 14 of the same municipality. Minister for Health Giriraj Mani Pokharel, who is currently in his hometown in Mahottari, has already instructed the concerned authorities for the prevention of dengue virus infection, according to the District Public Health Office.
