NRA issues 28-point declaration
Nov 5, 2017-
The National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) has issued a 28-point declaration to accelerate post-earthquake reconstruction works.
The declaration followed consultations with the representatives of local units in 14 districts hardest hit by the devastating earthquakes in 2015. In a new move, salaries of the technicians would be sent to the local federal units.
The best performing local governments and officials in reconstruction would be rewarded while the affected families would get a chance to build their houses in the neighbouring districts if they could not rebuild their houses at the original site.
The banks are supposed to deposit the grant amount to the accounts of the beneficiaries within two days of the institutions clearing the cheques.
NRA Chief Executive Yubraj Bhusal asked officials at the local federal units
and the authority to ensure permanent housing to more than 80 percent of the quake-hit households.
