The exhibit featured more than two dozens of artist Hasan’s work. Hasan has been painting for the past two decades. His works have been on display in over 30 countries around the world. Most of Hasan’s work presents representations of the seascape.
Talking about the Kathmandu iteration of the exhibit, co-ordinator Bijay Raj Acharya said that the event was organised to foster cross-cultural exchange between Nepal and Bangladesh. “Since the sea is a remote thing for us, its symbolism is always a matter of fresh realisation,” he said.
Artist Hasan, speaking about his work and the title of the exhibit, said, “Others write poetry with words, which I do with colours. Words are understood more easily than colours, but they are limited by one’s knowledge of a language. Colour, however, is a universal script, and people in any location on earth can grasp at least something from every piece of painting.”
