NHRC condemns rising incidents of bomb attack
Nov 30, 2017-The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has expressed its serious concern over the recent incidents of bomb attack in various districts.
Expressing sorrow over the death of Binod Chaudhary, a temporary cop, in a blast in Tulsipur of Dang on Tuesday, the national rights body said it condemns the incidents of blast and explosion in Udaypur, Jhapa, Bara, Mahottari, Saptari, Nawlaparasi, Lalitpur and Gulmi among others.
The NHRC has also urged the government to initiate prompt investigation into the incidents of blast and put in place adequate security measures so as to ensure fair and terror-free second phase of elections.
‘Refrain from rallies on roads’
KATHMANDU: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) said on Wednesday that its attention has been drawn to a political rally on Tuesday which obstructed the movements of members of the public as it was organised in the middle of the road. The CPN-UML on Tuesday had organised its election programme in Baneshwor occupying the road near the Parliament building. Without naming any party, the national rights body said it found during its monitoring that a political rally on November 28 occupying the road in Baneshwor created obstructions to the movements of the members of the public. It has urged all concerned to respect and uphold human rights while organising political rallies. (PR)
