PM: Inclusive democracy will lose in left victory
Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said inclusive governance will come to an end if the left alliance of the CPN-UML and the CPN (Maoist Centre) wins the elections to federal parliament and provincial assemblies.Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said inclusive governance will come to an end if the left alliance of the CPN-UML and the CPN (Maoist Centre) wins the elections to federal parliament and provincial assemblies.
“Communists are preparing to impose a presidential system. Inclusive democracy achieved through the People’s Movement-II will end with the presidential system,” Deuba told a rally organised by the “democratic alliance” at Ghattechaur on Thursday.
At another election rally at Malangawa, the district headquarters of Sarlahi, PM Deuba asserted that the NC was the only party that fought against the Rana rule, the Panchayat system and the direct rule of deposed king Gyanendra Shah to ensure people’s rights, hinting that the party was ready to confront any regime that denied people their fundamental rights.
“Congress is the party of Madhes. The Congress has no alternative to granting more rights to the Madhes and the Madhesi people,” said the NC chief. He called the UML an “anti-Madhes force” as it voted against the last constitution amendment proposal in the dissolved parliament.
