The two-day event will take place during IT MEET 2018 at IT Park, Banepa. NepHack is a penetration testing competition based on the Capture the Flag (CTF) framework where different teams would compete among each other for the top honour.
The participants will be breaking the security vulnerabilities from the questions that would be provided to them.
“NepHack isn’t just giving a platform where computer security geek gets to test their networking and security skill, but also aim to show the Nepali computer security community the prospect that are slowly becoming available to them,” the organisers said in a statement. The competition carries a purse of Rs 20,000, Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000 for the team finishing first, second and third.
“The event offers much more than money. Some of the participants would also get a chance to work at Cynical Technology as an intern, getting a chance to broaden their knowledge on the security sector,” the organisers said.
