- Post Report, Kathmandu

Jul 18, 2018-

Opposition leader and former prime minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Tuesday met with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to draw his attention to the deteriorating health condition of Dr Govinda KC, who has been on a hunger strike in Jumla since June 30. The Nepali Congress president is learnt to have asked PM Oli to save the life of Dr KC by addressing his demands urgently. According to a statement issued by NC Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Paudel, Deuba also expressed his view that issues related to Dr KC would be resolved only if the government tabled the National Medication Education Bill by retaining the provisions of the ordinance that was in force until July 4, threatening protests if the major provisions were altered to allow establishment of new medical colleges in Kathmandu Valley.
