Minister for Education, Science and Technology Giriraj Mani Pokharel has announced the government’s plan to make Nepal fully literate by next year.
At an event organised by Jay Govinda Saha Study Centre jointly with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology in Janakpur on Thursday, Pokharel said federalism has not offered any benefit to 60,000 plus children outside the school system despite the government’s numerous enrolment campaigns.
The second round of student enrolment campaign would complete by mid-September. Local governments have to enrol students as part of compulsory education provision of the constitution.
