President, PM to offer tika during Dashain

President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli will offer ‘tika’ to distinguished persons and as well as public during Dashain on October 19.
President Bhandari will be Kathmandu during Dashain festival, but Prime Minister Oli will visit Jhapa one day ahead of the Bijaya Dashmai.
“PM will return on the day of Bijaya Dashami from Jhapa and will receive tika from his father. Then the PM will offer tika to the party leaders, carders and general at Baluwatar,” PM’s press adviser, Kundan Aryal said.
Assistant spokesman at the Office of the President, Keshav Prasad Ghimire, said the President will offer the Dashain tika to the distinguished persons from 1 pm to 2 pm and to public from 2 pm to 4 pm on October 19, the Bijaya Dashami day.
The time for receiving tika from the President on Bijaya Dashami day has been fixed for the distinguished persons including the government ministers, the province chiefs, judges, members of the federal parliament, office-berarers of the constitutional bodies and the members of the general public.
The Preisdent will also give tika to civil servants and police and army personnel on the occasion, the Office of the President stated. There is a tradition of the Head of the State giving tika to the distinguished persons, civil servants and the memebrs of the general public on Bijaya Dashami.
