Hosts Nawa Jana Jagriti Youth Club of Simara eased to a 3-0 victory over Makawanpur XI at the Simara Stadium on Thursday.
After a goalless first half, Nikesh Thapa struck twice and Prajwal Thapa added another in a convincing Jana Jagriti victory. Nikesh scored one minute after the resumption converting from the near post. Backed by a huge local supporters, Jana Jagriti went 2-0 ahead when Prajwal netted in 60th minute from the area cashing in on a cross from Niraj Thapa Magar.
Makawanpur continued to buckle under pressure and the third came in the 76th minute from Nikesh. Makawanpur did try to hit back in the game but all their effort went in vain. Their coach Bijay Lal Shrestha said the change of strategy didn’t work for his side. “The boys were doing well in the first half but once we changed our plans, the team began to lose balance,” said Shrestha.
Jana Jagriti coach Sonu Chhetri was confident to win the game adding: “We did well in the midfield. The boys did better than we had expected. We were well organised.” On Friday, Bishal Memorial Foundation of Birgunj will take on Nepal Armed Police Force Club.
