Cricket Players Association Nepal (CPAN) on Sunday announced nominees in three of the five categories for the annual CPAN Cricket Awards slated for March 5.
A seven-member selection committee announced five nominees each for male cricketer of year, female cricketer of the Year and Emerging Cricketer of the Year awards. CPAN has already revealed 10 best cricketing moments for the Moments of the Year Award, while it will directly honour the Lifetime Achievement award during the function on March 5.
National team skipper Paras Khadka along with his teammates Dipendra Singh Airee, Karan KC, Sandeep Lamichhane and Sompal Kami were nominated for the Cricketer of the Year award, while Indu Barma, Karuna Bhandari, Sarita Magar, Sita Rana Magar and skipper national team skipper Rubina Chhetry were named for the Female cricketer of the Year Award.
Avinash Bohara, Kabita Kunwar, Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi, Rohit Kumar Paudel and Sandeep Jhora were nominated for the Emerging Cricketer of the Year award.
The male cricketer of the year will be rewarded with Rs 132,00, while the remaining four category winners will receive Rs 66,000 each. Title sponsor National College of Computer Studies will bear all the expenses of the award function.
Member of the selection committee include cricket coaches Jagat Tamatta and Binod Das, umpires Binay Kumar Jha and Durga Nath Subedi, journalists Sarita Shrestha and Subash Humagain and national team technical coordinator Raman Shiwakoti.
