The main tunnel of the Nagdhunga-Sisnekhola tunnel, linking Kathmandu with Dhading on the western rim of Kathmandu, pictured on Monday. Project officials said just four metres remain to be dug to achieve a breakthrough of the 2.6 km tunnel. Once completed, vehicles plying the Nagdhunga-Naubise stretch of the Prithvi Highway will be able to bypass at least 19 hairpin bends along an 8-km section of the highway.
