A total of 47 people lost their lives in the devastating accident that occurred last Thursday. Ten people have been injured in the accident while seven others are still missing. A passenger bus (Na 3 Kha 1408) veered off the road and plunged in the Bheri river at Bhurchaur -7 in Jajarkot in the morning of November 20.
The bereaved families have accused the police administration of giving protection to the bus driver and have demanded action against him, immediate compensation of Rs 500,000 to them, management of scholarship to the victims' children and treatment expense for the injured.
They have warned that the district will remained closed until their demands are met. Transport service, government offices and markets have been closed.
