The one sided affair between Army and Himalayan Sherpa saw the departmental team make the breakthrough three minutes before interval. Chirring Lama scored with a header for Army who have made to the quarter-final as the Group ‘A’ winners maintaining winning records in all four matches.
Bibek Chaudhary doubled the advantage for the departmental team in the 72nd beating an advancing goalkeeper. Susan Lama sealed the victory with another goal in the stoppage time.
In late fixture, the fate of winners between Friends Club and Lumbini was decided from the spot after the regulation time finished in 1-1 deadlock. Dipesh Prasai put Friends ahead in the 16th minute before Lumbini equalised in the 53rd minute through Mohan Thapa to force the tiebreaker. Friends goalie Rohit Karki denied two shots from spot to guide the team into semi-finals.
In the semi-finals on Wednesday, Army will take on Morang and Friends Club will clash against Brigade Boys Club.
