Issuing a statement on Saturday, Khagraj Baral, coordinator of the government’s talks team and Secretary at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, urged Dr KC to come to the negotiating table.
“I believe that Dr KC’s demands can be sorted out through talks,” Baral said in the statement, “Government is ready to hold talks with Dr KC but without any condition.”
He said that the talks could not gain momentum due to the stance of Dr KC’s talks team.
“Talks could not gain momentum as Dr KC’s team has been saying they would not sit for talks until the National Medical Education Bill was withdrawn,” the statement further read.
The government’s talks team was of the opinion that Dr KC’s team should come to the talks table by leaving their stance.
The government brought Dr KC to Kathmandu from Jumla just to save his life, the statement read.
Earlier on July 16, the government had formed a three-member talks team under the headship of Baral.
Baral said that talks between Dr KC’s aides and the government were held for three times in the past but to no avail.
