Social Media Awards being mooted
Nepali film awards are a dime-a-dozen. Numerous in number, but short on quality, these awards have even courted controversy in the past with lists of award winners being revealed prior to the shows. Now, Dream World of Filmmakers, a film production company, has unveiled plans to add yet another award show to the calendar. The newly-concieved Social Media Film Awards is set to honour short films, documentaries, advertorials and even viral videos making rounds on social media platforms, Sabnam Mukhiya, the chairperson of the organising committee informed.
The awards, according to the organisers, will be categorised under two headings; the film category includes award titles such as Best Documentary and Best Short Film (fiction); while the Social Media category includes titles such as Best Social Media Visual, Best Youtube Video, Best Challenging News-Live and even Best Troll and Musically videos.
The organisers also announced that they will be taking submissions in to consideration through Sept 30.
