Late NC leader’s last rites held at Aryaghat

NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba, senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel, Vice-president Bimalendra Nidhi, among others, paid their last respects to the late Banstola at Pashupati Aryaghat.
The party has decided to observe three days of mourning in his honour and decided to hold mourning assembly in all districts on the 13th day, the party said in a statement.
Earlier on Sunday, political leaders, well-wishers, and family members offered tributes to Banstola at NC Central Office in Sanepa, Lalitpur. NC President Deuba, General Secretary Shashank Koirala, and Nepal Communist Party leader Jhala Nath Khanal, among other leaders, reached there to offer their respects to Banstola. Leader Banstola, who had been bed-ridden for six years following a brain haemorrhage, passed away on Saturday evening. He is survived by his spouse and two daughters. (PR)
