The workshops and classes will be open to beginners and experienced musicians.
The series will start on April 26, and will culminate with a concert marking the International Jazz Day. The five-day long event will see concerts, screening of art films, music workshops, a doodling workshop, and an Acoustic Tour. On the occasion of IJD, the Conservatory will also award scholarships for students partaking in the workshops and open classes.
International Jazz Day has been celebrated every year, since 2011, after UNESCO proclaimed April 30 as the day to celebrate “the virtues of jazz as an educational tool, and a force for peace, unity, dialogue and enhanced cooperation among people.”
