A man died in a clash during a Deusi programme in Hetauda, Makwanpur, on Wednesday night.
Police said 47-year-old Ramesh Rana Magar of Padam Pokhari, who was injured while trying to break up a fight between two Deusi troupes, died at Chure Hill Hospital. Magar’s son was part of one of the group involved in the clash.
Superintendent of Police Buddhi Raj Gurung said Magar was attacked outside his shop while trying to protect his son from the Deusi group. Seven suspects have been held in connection to the incident as search is underway for the others involved, he added.
