Dr KC in Kathmandu, taken to TUTH

Senior orthopedic surgeon Dr Govinda KC, who has been staging fast-unto-death since June 30 at the Jumla-based Karnali Academy of Health Sciences (KAHS), has been brought to Kathmandu on Thursday.

Dr KC was brought to Kathmandu via a military chopper by allegedly using force by security personnel though he had been saying that the talks should be held in Jumla.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Dr KC was brought to Kathmandu as per the recommendation of KAHS as his health was deteriorating day by day.

Later, Dr KC was taken to the Maharajgunj-based Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) for treatment, Guna raj Lohani, Director General at the Department of Health Services and a member of government’s talks team said.
